To develop the vocational interests of young people in care, Jose has developed 2 x 3-hour workshops for community health units and homeless refuges.

The young people participating in the program are shown how to select and use professional products for healthy hair. The first 3 hour session covers health, how it affects your hair, along with styling tips.  The second 3 hour session is an introduction to hairdressing.  Jose covers a selection of subjects from colour and cutting, to work and education related information.

If young people in these workshops are interested in pursuing a career as a professional hairdresser, Jose, on their behalf, will contact participating colleges offering scholarships, or participating salons interested in sponsoring an apprentice.

A referral letter and a certificate of completion for the workshops will be issued to all participants.  These workshops are free, and donations of equipment, or products for, or as part of a starting kit for the participants, would be very welcome.
